History
History.
We can say that the tourism in our area begin towards the second half of the 800, thanks to people like Pellegrino Pellegrini from Rocca Pietore, the first mountain guide in the Dolomites, who in 1862 had the honor to accompany the first climber of the Marmolada, the Viennese Paul Grohmann, to the top of Punta Rocca, 3,310 meters. After him, many other keen walkers and climbers opened the door to modern tourism. After the sad period of the 1st World War there was a further increase, especially for the discovery of skiing of which the Marmolada has always been a symbol, and in fact, here was born in the mid-60s, one of the most beautiful and daring cableways of the Alps.
Other ski facilities are subsequently born, allowing the connection to Superski Dolomiti and a direct connection to the Sella Ronda. For the more demanding, a different possibility is given by the ski bus connection with the Civetta ski area.
